3 and Counting

Sunday 10 March saw the conclusion to the 3rd of the Zone Championships of the year.

As usual Nathan Dawson was to name on everyone’s lips after he secured his 3rd Zone title of 2019 with a comprehensive victory in the singles Final.  Nathan needed 6 wins to take the title out in 2019.  Day 1 was dicey to say the least with 2 come from behind victories of 31/30 getting him through to the round of 16.  Scores of 31/5 and 31/6 on day 2 showed he was not for messing around anymore and had his eyes firmly on the prize.  a 31/25 victory over Andrew Rees in the semi-final was Nathan’s next closest game and he finished off the final over DJ Dilworth with a 31/10 win.  With only the pairs left Nathan is on for an unprecedented clean sweep and grand slam of titles!

special note also to Nathan’s club mate John Rees.  John has made the 3 finals of the senior events coming away with a runner-up in the fours and victories in the Triples and Singles.  2 dominant forces in their respective categories of OPEN and SENIOR.
